BILLBOARD News about people, products, places & plans Photo courtesy of the National Trust for Historic Preservation St. Luke’s Manor Renovation Recognized with National Award he National Trust for Historic Preservation recently presented its 2012 National Trust/Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation to Saint Luke’s Manor in Cleveland. The project was one of 22 award winners honored by the National Trust during its 2012 National Preservation Conference in Spokane, Washington in early November. The Award for Excellence in Historic St. Luke’s Manor Preservation recognizes efforts that both advance the nation’s historic preservation goals and provide affordable housing and economic development opportunities for low-and moderate-income residents. After sitting empty for 12 years, the 390,000-square-foot former hospital complex was trans-formed by building owners Neighborhood Progress, Inc. and partner Pennrose Properties into affordable rental housing for seniors and office space for local non-profits. Financial support for the project came from the City of Cleveland, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, the Ohio Department of Development, Enterprise Community Investment and PNC Bank. The project also utilized both low income and federal and state historic tax credits. Under this Agreement, Intesa will be the first private commercial building in the United States to offer 100 Gigabit speed to its residents and businesses.
